Field Notes – Sound Editions

Blog

This July saw the start of a new series from Sono Space. Field recording albums connected to specific locations from around the world. The idea behind the collections is to bring together sounds that have been collected during different artists journeys as they go about their daily routines, pausing to collect sounds as they go.

Here are some of the photographs and track notes that accompanied the release of the first three albums in the series. Keep a look out for further editions coming towards the end of the year.

Bella Mackenzie – Biskek / Almaty
Selected ambient recordings from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, May, 2019

Harry Sumner – Huesca / Barcelona
Selected field recordings from my time spent living in these two cities during the last two years.
Field Recording 2017 -2019.

Anton Villeneuve – Paris / London
Selected ambient recordings from London and Paris, 2015.
In 2015 I went to work in the U.K for ten months. It was a traumatising experience because I had a very basic level of English in those days and working in a kitchen is not so easy. I spent a lot of time returning to France whenever I could find the excuse. These recordings come from that time and were usually made on one of my journeys home.
